Meet Cathrynn

Cathrynn Brown has served honorably as an active and positive influence in our community. Wife, Mother, Lawyer, Volunteer, State Representative - she has led by example in every aspect of her life.

Cathrynn is a graduate of Reed College and the University of Idaho College of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of Law Review. She's recently retired from practicing law in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

For the past 14 years, Cathrynn has been representing District 55, consisting of portions of Eddy and Lea Counties. She's a member of the powerful Appropriations and Finance Committee and ranking member of the Transportation, Public Works, and Capital Improvements Committee. She  served eight years on the House Judiciary Committee. Cathrynn chaired two committees of the New Mexico Legislature from 2015 to 2016. Cathrynn is a long-time, active member of the National Council of State Legislatures’ working group on nuclear energy issues.
